Install quicken on vista

In my case, I already have a Quicken file. When I install Quicken on a Acer laptop running Vista, it immediately encounters an error and closes.

I uninstalled and jumped thru all the hoops Quicken recommended to no avail. What did work was moving my old data file onto my new computer. Not on a CD, that won't work. It has to be on your computer and right click properties to make sure it isn't marked read only. Left click directly on it to open it, and it will find the Quicken program and open. After I backed up and saved, I could open again off the Quicken icon with no problem.

I too have been trying to get Quicken installed on Acer. I even tried installing Quicken and got the same unexpected error I now have Quicken up and running.
