I go back to Vista Media Center navigate to tools externders select the select configure hit next answer no or yes next and then it hangs on device configuration. I can do it on either one. My last attempt funny as it sounds is to bypass the network with a twisted network cable or a standard hub. Are there issues with a swtiched hubs linksys befw11s4? I removed the linksys and connected using a hub. But still wondering if the hub is switched. But I think it is not important or the problem.
I'm able to connect to the PC to share media but not able to media center on the PC as an extender. Still hangs when trying to configure media center extender. I understand that I don't need the software at xbox. Therefore just add the extender via vista.
Everything goes but it hangs at the configuration of the device. By the way, Till now I was unable to get it running in Vista. Since its fully working. You don't even need to install supplementary Decoder Soft e. Nvidia Pure Video or so on. But pay attention to the driver check!!! Otherwise my PC couldn't even bootup Vista whilst the Sat card was plugged-in. I have been fighting this subject the past few weeks, and still can't make anything happen. I did look around, set permissions, sharings It used to work perfectly under the XP.
The media extender believes there is not enough bandwidth between the XBOX and the PC, even though they are on the exact same router, side by side. SOOn my friend. Ihave spent the two last days trying to figure oute win media center,I got a tip.

And then again hey metion this at the very end;check if your computer backs this up.. I wont bather you anymore.. I love the new "play all" shuffle mode, too. The program guide-- which is completely free, no monthly charges whatsoever-- now overlays the live video as a transparency. There's also a new popup Mini-Guide not pictured which lets you browse nearby channels without obscuring playback. The main menu no longer stops whatever I'm doing and zaps me back to a flat menu screen.
It's more of a pop-up style menu, which can be accessed at any time through the big green MCE button. I can now continue watching my program in the background while navigating the main menu, too. There's no longer any need to rely on questionable, expensive third-party DVD playback apps. Smart defaults and all, you know? Right click on that link and save it with a.
